About Me
I loved art as a child and still remember my grade five teacher saying that my art had a maturity about it, I was quite proud of that. I have always been a doodler, my school notebooks were covered with scribbles of nature, birds and abstract shapes. Later in life, it was during boring software technology lectures, that my pages were filled with doodles.
I retired five years ago, and having moved north of the city, and leaving my friends, I was quite bored. I took a watercolour class at Quest Art in Midland, and have not looked back since.
With Watercolour you are constantly learning. Most of the time you are not in control, and I am gradually learning to let go and make this part of my art. I have not developed a style. I have not focussed my painting on particular subjects. Sometimes I paint loose, and sometimes I paint very detailed. If I do develop a style I believe it will find me, I do not have to pursue it.
In the meantime I am just enjoying the beauty of painting, I paint for the pure enjoyment. Not all will be in frames, most will be in the trash, but I will enjoy every minute of it!
